The last weekend of May will belong to the 14th edition of the collectible design festival Křehký Mikulov. The festival is organized by Profil Media, the company behind Designblok, Prague International Design Festival. From May 29 to 31, 2026, dozens of designers, artists, and studios from the Czech Republic and abroad will present their work across the Mikulov castle grounds and other locations throughout the town.
The central theme of this year’s edition is Garden – in all its beauty, diversity, and symbolism. Alongside exhibitions and installations, visitors can look forward to international artists, presentations by university studios, and an extensive accompanying program including creative workshops with designers, talks, discussions, concerts, pétanque tournament, and a traditional Sunday hike with a picnic on Svatý kopeček hill.
This year’s participating designers and artists include Milan Pekař & Tereza Sluková, Johan Pertl, Viktor Tabiš, Tereza Orviská, Johana Hnízdilová, Arťom Nurvan, Eva Pelechová, Tadeáš Podracký, Helena Patelisová, Hana Hillerová, Josef Bolf × Květná 1794, Šárka Ištvánová, Gréta Kušnírová, Ivo Jedlička, Jan Plecháč, Ateliér Šunčík, Michal Bačák × Dechem, Kateřina Rutheford, Klára Šumová × Křehký, Antonín Tomášek, Michaela Vrbková × RAP, Maxim Velčovský, and Daniel Piršč.
Křehký Mikulov also regularly welcomes international designers and artists. This year, visitors can look forward to Luxembourg-based sculptor Pitt Brandenburger, the renowned Vienna-based studio mischer’traxler, and Austrian designers Eva Maria Zangerle & Rainer Grilberger.
The festival will also feature presentations by university studios, including the Ceramic and Porcelain Studio at Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, UJEP in Ústí nad Labem, and VŠVU in Bratislava. Supporting emerging talents and helping young creators enter the professional scene has long been one of the priorities of both Rockaway ARTS and Designblok.
Křehký Mikulov 2026 will take place from May 29 to 31, while the exhibition circuit at Mikulov Castle and other exhibitions throughout the town will remain open until June 7, 2026. Admission to exhibitions and most accompanying events is free of charge, with the exception of selected workshops.
Profil Media, the company organizing the festival, is co-owned by Rockaway Arts, the cultural platform of Rockaway Capital, which supports major cultural events in the Czech Republic, including the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and Colours of Ostrava.
